
Kathryn Smith is an
independent artist, curator and writer. She relocated from Durban to Johannesburg in 1994
and completed her BA(FA)(Hons) and MA(FA) with distinction from the University of the
Witwatersrand in 1999. Career highlights thus far include a FNB Vita Art Prize nomination
(2001), curating a two-year exhibition programme for the Klein Karoo National Arts
festival (2000/2001), co-curating 'Two Icons: The Atom, The Body' for Urban Futures 2000
with James Sey, winning the Sasol New Signatures Competition in 1999 and curating the 1998
exhibition 'Histories of the Present' (special guest: Orlan). |
